Deanne Adventures : What I’ve Been Up To All Summer

What an adventure this summer has been!! There have been successes, lessons, growth, adventures, beginnings, experiences and connections! As you all know, the summer began with a transition from being a partner in Travelling Yogi Retreats to a solo venture as Adventures with Deanne. That was a major shift in both in my personal and business life. People say “don’t mix business and friendship”. I’m not really one for rules, but it turns out this is a tricky combo. At the end of the day, I had to decide which was more important to me – the friendship was the obvious choice.

In June I took my SUP Yoga and SUP Instructor training. It’s something I’ve been wanting to do for a few years, and decided now was the time. It was amazing, and continues to be such a positive experience. The water, the physical aspect and the connections. I hope to get you all out on the water with me next season!

IMG_8530 spent a bunch of time on the trails. I LOVE the mountains. They feel like home to me. So grounding. I ran 2 legs of Sinister 7 Ultra,  I successfully completed another solo attempt at Black Spur Ultra, I went heli hiking in Kimberley, I hiked the West Coast Trail. I summited many mountains, and ran and hiked endless trails. In the summer I tend to stick closer to home and enjoy the amazing nature in my own backyard.

Part of having a new company is having a logo, branding and social media. I worked with my team to create the Adventures With Deanne brand. What a great experience, and success! I have some pretty kick ass merch if you’re interested. Essential oils, hats, tanks and tees. I even set up a booth at the Spruce Grove City Centre Market to share these items!

I spent time with my family. My youngest boys race BMX, and it has been so fun to watch them grow in the sport these last couple years. This summer I took them to BMX Nationals in Calgary, where they got to meet their hero Tory Nyhaug. My oldest son, Austyn, got his high school diploma and is heading into the Social Work program in 2018 – I couldn’t be prouder! Another highlight was my Grandparent’s 60th wedding anniversary, how amazing! And as always, the love of my life, Derek was right there beside me, at races, on the trails and in all of these precious moments!

Being a Realtor is still my “full time gig”. I love it. I love my work, I love my clients. I’m lucky to have an amazing team to help me, without them I’d never be able to do everything I do. This has been one of my best years yet, and I have no intention of stopping! Shameless plug: you should definitely check out my awesome listings here.

You can find me at That Yoga Place in Spruce Grove Wednesday and Thursday mornings at 6:00am for hot sunrise flow as well as Thursday Evenings 6:15pm at Willowby Community Hall for an all levels class. September 23 2-4 is my Learn To Fly workshop at That Yoga Place and January 6 you can find me there teaching my Yoga Fundamentals workshop.

I’m travelling! surprise, surprise. You can join me in Mexico this November 11-18 for Glow and Flow yoga retreat – a collaboration with Travelling Yogi Retreats. I’m travelling to Australia and Japan with the Hubs in December, and France with last week’s guest blogger Morianna in April. Can’t wait!!

I have so many more ideas! I’ll be offering a Learn to Run 5k beginning in October as well as a West Coast Trail Trip and the 4th annual Rocky Mountain Yoga Adventure next summer. The WCT trip will include 6 months of physical training and technical knowledge prior to the trip. Who know what else I’ll dream up for you in the coming weeks!
Let’s connect!
